Critical Essay Sample: Evicted Book Review

Critical Essay Sample: Evicted Book ReviewEvicted is a novel written by Lisa Bowler and is the latest from the American author. The novel is centered around four main characters who are all from different backgrounds. The plot follows four female friends who live in the same apartment building as the three characters mentioned earlier. The plot of Evicted is very compelling. The chapters of the book are short with many layers of meaning and a lot of action taking place on the page. I was captivated by the characters as I read the book.Lisa Bowler is an American author of thirteen novels and one non-fiction novel. The Evicted book was her first published work. The plot of the novel is built around four different characters that are trying to find their way out of their own apartments. This is not a typical tale of a young woman moving in with her family and being forced to move out.Evicted is very funny and I found myself laughing a lot throughout the book. It is not usually my thing t o laugh out loud, but I found myself laughing quite a bit at some points in the book. Even though there were a few times when I felt slightly irritated by the fast pace of the story and its lack of buildup, it was still enjoyable to read. The critical essay samples found within the book ranged from the usual who's right, who's wrong style. But the essays were interesting to read and were able to further explore the theme of the book. In addition, some essays took on a life of their own, leading me to believe that there is much more to this story than meets the eye.The essay that stood out the most to me, however, was the one that was written by Bowler herself, which added to the depth of her research. The essay, entitled 'On Behalf of My Tenants,' goes into the reasoning behind why she wrote the book and why she feels that the present state of our society has changed so drastically since she was a teenager. The essay touched on both what has been happening in our society and our soci etal mindset. From what I read in her essay, the author really does care about the subject matter. The essay was very informative, but there were some crucial parts of the essay that I was not familiar with. For those who are unfamiliar with any other essays that have been written on Evicted, I recommend that you research the essays by yourself, as most of the materials that I am about to list are not presented in the way that they were in the book.I was very impressed with the critical essay samples found within the book. The essay 'On Behalf of My Tenants' offered a little insight into what the author felt was important to discuss in her book.
